Meet Coach Phil Reimer

I have the privilege of working with Great Basin college as an adjunct professor for Land Surveying, as well as lecturer for Northern Arizona University Engineering Program, and the local land surveyor’s association covering a variety of topics including ALTA seminars, Advanced Land Surveys, US Public Land Surveys, and Legal Descriptions.

I am an avid Cyclist and USAC Olympic level cycling coach, that certification has offered me the opportunity to coach the Northern University Cycling Team. and culminated their 2017 season by finishing in a 5 place at Collegiate Nationals in Missoula Montana, including winning the Male cross-county race and placing 7 in Female cross-country race. Coaching cycling has been part of my life for quite some time, and I enjoy coaching youth mountain biking teams as well, prepping these young athletes for racing with the local development team. I am thrilled to be coaching the Prescott College Road Runners for the 2025 Season. I enjoy the friendships and camaraderie that comes from coaching a team. The College programs fit perfectly with these student athletes’ goals in school as well as on the bike. I am looking forward to working with this amazing team and promoting this Prescott College in the process.

We are so proud of this team! Kellan has moved up a class and still finished 8th. Alan’s first race and he finished 7th. Dane’s fist and a blown out tire and ran through the finish line for 10th. Elena’s first race with Mechanicals and she finished 4th. They all showed amazing heart and confidence and we are so excited for the rest of the season.

It’s mountain bike season…time to ride!

Prescott College Roadrunners bring first sports team to college

By ABIGAIL CELAYA, The Daily Courier

Roadrunners are known for their spectacular speed, able to run up to 20 mph. But in Prescott, the little birds aren’t just known for their running abilities, they are also the mascot for Prescott College’s new cycling team.

The cycling team launched at Prescott College in December 2024 and is coached by Phil Reimer, a USA Olympic level cycling coach who coached NAU’s cycling team from 2008-2017. The Roadrunners are the one and only sports team on the college’s campus and were created in hopes to draw student interest to the school.
